Description:
Brudenell Social Club is a legendary Leeds music venue and community bar in Hyde Park, known for live gigs, club nights, cheap pints, pool tables, food trucks, pies and a wonderfully no-nonsense atmosphere. It is one of those places that feels properly Leeds, independent, loved, slightly scruffy in the right way and responsible for half the city saying, “I saw them at the Brude before they got massive.”
Good for:
Live music · Gigs · Club nights · Indie bands · Cheap pints · Pool tables · Food trucks · Student nights · Community events · Proper Leeds nights out
Nearby:
Hyde Park · Queens Road · Brudenell Road · Hyde Park Picture House · Woodhouse Moor · Burley Park Station · Royal Park Road · Headingley · Leeds University
Make a Day of It:
Start with a film at Hyde Park Picture House or a wander around Woodhouse Moor, then head to Brudenell for drinks, food and a gig. If you are making a proper Hyde Park night of it, keep an eye on the listings, grab a pint early and accept that standing near the back with a plastic glass is basically part of the ritual.
The Tidy Take:
Brudenell Social Club is Leeds music culture in pub form. It is not polished, it is not pretending, and that is exactly why people love it. Great gigs, proper community feel and the kind of atmosphere money cannot really manufacture. A true Leeds institution.
