Description:

FortyFive Vinyl Café combines a coffee shop, licensed bar, record store and intimate live music venue under one Micklegate roof. Browse new and used vinyl, play the free jukebox and settle in with locally roasted Brazilian coffee, a grilled cheese sandwich, milkshake or something stronger. Evening concerts follow their own schedules, with the café closing between 17:00 and 19:00 on live music nights.

Good for:

Vinyl records · Grilled cheese sandwiches · Coffee · Local beer · Cocktails · Live music · Jukebox sessions · Dog-friendly stops · Record collectors · Nashville-style listening shows

Nearby:

Micklegate · River Ouse · Ouse Bridge · Priory Church of the Holy Trinity · York Railway Station · Bar Convent · Micklegate Bar

Make a Day of It:

Browse the independent businesses along Micklegate, stop at FortyFive for coffee and a grilled cheese, then lose track of time flicking through the record racks. Continue towards the River Ouse afterwards, or return for an evening show and practise the noble art of listening without chatting through the quiet songs.

The Tidy Take:

FortyFive is part café, part record shop and part miniature slice of Nashville. The coffee is strong, the grilled cheese is comforting and the vinyl selection makes popping in for half an hour a wildly optimistic plan.
