Description:
Los Moros is a modern North African kitchen on Grape Lane, serving colourful small plates, bold spices, homemade pickles, preserved lemons, chermoula, falafel, merguez and locally sourced produce. It is bright, flavour-packed and very good at making “let’s share a few dishes” become a table-wide negotiation.
Good for:
North African food, small plates, date nights, group dinners, vegetarian dishes, vegan options, local produce, bold flavours, wine pairings and anyone who thinks dinner should come with spice, colour and zero beige behaviour.
Nearby:
The Shambles, Shambles Market, Stonegate, York Minster, Swinegate, Merchant Adventurers’ Hall, St Helen’s Square, York’s Chocolate Story.
Make a Day of It:
Start with a wander through The Shambles and Shambles Market, then head to Los Moros for small plates, wine and a proper flavour hit. After that, drift towards Stonegate or York Minster for a slower city-centre wander, ideally while pretending you are not still thinking about the falafel.
The Tidy Take:
Los Moros is one of York’s standout independent food spots. It feels relaxed, creative and properly full of flavour, with North African cooking that brings something different to the city centre. Great for dates, catch-ups and anyone bored of safe little plates that arrive with no personality.
