Description:
The Climbing Lab is an independent bouldering centre in Kirkstall, with climbing walls, training areas, classes, kids’ sessions and a café-style social space for post-climb recovery. Great for fitness, friendly competition and anyone who enjoys solving problems while hanging off a wall like a determined gecko.
Good for:
Bouldering · Fitness · Beginners · Kids’ sessions · Group activities · Coffee after climbing
Nearby:
Kirkstall Road · Cardigan Fields · Burley · Headingley · Kirkstall Abbey · Leeds Industrial Museum
Make a Day of It:
Start with a climb at The Climbing Lab, then head towards Kirkstall Road or Cardigan Fields for food, drinks or a well-earned sit down. If you’ve still got working arms afterwards, Kirkstall Abbey makes a good nearby wander. If not, café. Chair. No sudden movements.
The Tidy Take:
Tidy Guides recommends The Climbing Lab because it’s active, social and beginner-friendly without feeling intimidating. It’s a cracking shout when you want to do something different in Leeds that doesn’t just involve sitting down and ordering fries, although we fully support the fries afterwards.
