Description:
The Myrtle Tavern is a proper Meanwood pub with draught ales, cracking food, live entertainment and one of Leeds’ best beer gardens tucked away near the park. It feels like a country pub that somehow wandered into the city and decided to stay, which, frankly, was excellent behaviour.

Good for:
Draught ales · Pub food · Sunday roasts · Beer garden drinks · Family meals · Dog-friendly stops · Live entertainment · Relaxed catch-ups · Anyone who likes a pub with grass, trees and actual breathing room

Nearby:
Meanwood Park · Meanwood Valley Trail · Meanwood Valley Farm · The Hollies · Headingley · Chapel Allerton · Meanwood Institute

Make a Day of It:
Start with a walk through Meanwood Park or along the Meanwood Valley Trail, then head to The Myrtle Tavern for food, drinks and a proper beer garden sit-down. If the weather behaves, stay outside. If it does not, you are in Yorkshire, so simply go inside and pretend that was always the plan.

The Tidy Take:
The Myrtle Tavern is a Leeds favourite for a reason. It has that cosy local-pub feel, a brilliant garden and the rare ability to work for walkers, families, dog owners, Sunday lunch crews and pint-in-the-sun people. Basically, Meanwood knew what it was doing with this one.
