Description:
Wax Bar is a funky little New Briggate bar with an old-school music obsession running right through it. Think Americana jukebox, vinyl records, retro radios, cassette-tape details, cocktails, cold beers and late-night Leeds character in one intimate, slightly chaotic room. It is the kind of bar that feels like someone turned their record collection into a night out.

Good for:
Cocktails, cold beers, late-night drinks, music lovers, vinyl fans, group catch-ups, pre-gig drinks, casual dates, New Briggate bar hopping and anyone who thinks a decent bar should have better taste in music than your mate’s house party.

Nearby:
New Briggate, Leeds Grand Theatre, The Grand Arcade, Belgrave Music Hall, Headrow House, North Bar, Sela Bar, First Direct Arena, Merrion Street.

Make a Day of It:
Start with food or drinks around Merrion Street, The Grand Arcade or Belgrave, then head to Wax Bar for cocktails, beers and a proper New Briggate soundtrack. It also works nicely before a gig, after a show at Leeds Grand Theatre or as the place where “one quick drink” stops being an honest statement.

The Tidy Take:
Wax Bar is small, loud, retro and full of personality, exactly the kind of place Leeds needs more of. Great drinks, good music and a room that feels more like a party den than a polished chain bar. Basically, if the jukebox gets you, you are staying.
